Introduction

This command is used to create a sewer house connection network from an existing (house connection) polyline.

House connection polylines can be created using the Create Sewer House Connection Polylines command. Polylines for house connections should be drawn so they finish at the centreline of a sewer pipe.

House connections are useful in establishing controlling levels for a Sewer network.

Important Note: The pipes and pit created using this command are automatically created as a network.

Details

Upon selecting the command the following form is displayed:

Pipe Settings Set the default Pipe Class and Type that will be used. Pipe Classes and Types are defined in the Active Network Settings.

Pipe Class Select the Pipe Class to be used. The prefix denotes the shape of the pipe, P- for pipes and B- for Box Culverts.

Pipe Type Select the Pipe Type (size) to be used.

Create From Objects Create pipes and pits from existing polylines in the drawing.

House Connection Type Select the House Connection Type to be applied to the house connection. The house connection type allows you to control the properties of the house connection including: minimum cover, grade, upstream, downstream & internal drop etc. The house connection types are defined in the Active Network Settings.

Layer for Internal Drop Select the Layer that the Internal Drop or Frontage Lines (polylines) are drawn on. Alternatively use to select the layer of an object in the drawing. All polylines on this layer will be used. This layer only needs to be selected if you wish to use the option.

Select House Polyline at DOWNSTREAM End Create a new House Connection Network from a existing polyline in the drawing. Select the polyline near the end you wish to define as the Downstream point of the house connection.

Select existing house connection Select an existing House Connection Network, to change it's current House Connection Type and or Internal Drop location, to the type or layer currently selected in the form above.

Cancel Exit the form without creating house connection.

Once a polyline is selected in the drawing, the follow form is displayed:

Name Enter the name of the house connection. Duplicate Network Names will not be accepted.

Lot Number Enter the lot number for the house connection, if required. Alternatively use to select text in the drawing to be used as the lot number.

Lot Area Enter the lot area for the house connection, if required. Alternatively use to select text in the drawing to be used as the lot area. Alternatively use to select a closed 2D polyline representing the lot area or defining the lot boundary shape in the drawing.

Connection Type Override Type in a name here to override the automatic house connection type set in the Active Network Settings form. This value can be reported at the time of Plotting Long Sections.

Existing House Connections List of all previously created house connections

OK Apply and exit.

Cancel Abort the house connection creation.

The software will automatically grade the house connection based on the setting defined in the nominated House Connection Type, however the pipe and pit level of the House Connection can be adjusted using the Vertical Grading Editor.
