Introduction

This command will convert alignments into Strings and drape them (set elevations matching) onto a selected surface. 

At the time of creating the string the user can set the section sampling (spacing), apply a template and set whether the elevations are updated when the Update Draped Strings command is run.

Details

Upon selecting the command the following form is displayed:

List of Alignments	List alignments to be converted into Strings and draped onto a surface
Alignment Name	Alignment to be converted into a draped string
Surface	Surface to set elevations for the string
Template	Optional Template to apply to the string
Initial Tangent Spacing	Set spacing for tangents
Initial Arc Spacing	Set spacing for arcs
Update Mode	Auto - elevations updated when the Update Draped Strings command is run. Manual - elevations initially applied.  Only updated through the Vertical Grading Editor.
Create/Update Strings	Creates all the added alignments in the list as Strings, draped onto the selected surface.  If already created, this command updates the elevations of all strings in the list to match the assigned surface. A message will display to confirm the string creation/update.
Cancel	Exit the form without creating draped strings
