Introduction
Model Trim uses aritificial intelligence to automate application of a boundary to design models. Model Trim intelligently assess triangles for suitability in the model by reviewing the connecting codes on the triangle edges as well as the triangle geometry.
Model Trim can be trained to remove (or not remove) triangles based on the triangle code combinations and can train learn from surface models that you trim and/or add a boundary to manually.
Note: when a surface is rebuilt, the Model Trim edit is removed. The CSD Surface Boundaries command could be used after running Model Trim to create a polyline outline that could then be added to the surface as a Surface Boundary.

Use this command to teach the AI. After manually trimming a surface, that surface can be used to teach the AI so that it performs automatically in future similar situations. The currently selected CSD Model/Surface is used.

This command allows for selected triangle combinations to be explicitly included or excluded in the triangulated mesh. It is an override to any AI behaviour.
Never Delete Tab
Any triangle combinations set in here will not be deleted by this command. Add
Click to add a triangle combination to include in the list. Each triangle edge in a design model surface has codes assigned corresponding to the design code they represent.
Select from CAD
Pick a triangle in the drawing to return the three codes describing the triangle corners. Code 1
Type in a code Code 2
Type in a code Code 3
Type in a code Return all combinations
Tick this on to include all combinations of the three codes. Otherwise that exact combination of codes is the only one added. Codes a b c can be combined as follows:

Do not add the combination/s Select Triangle
Select this command or press F8 while inside the form.
At the command prompt 'Select triangle' click on screen on a triangle edge. The software will report the combination describing the triangle.

Pick the CSD Surface/Model to be trimmed
Options
Maximum Edge Length
Set a maximum edge length. This is used for Boundary edge retraction
Boundary edge retraction
Delete triangles, working from the outside in (retraction) applying the Maximum Edge Length. Once a triangle is found with a smaller value than the Maximum Edge Length, triangle deletion stops.
Delete triangles exceeding edge length
Unconditional triangle deletion based on triangle edge length
Don't use AI model
Apply the edge length controls without using any AI to intelligently remove based on codes and geometry.
