Update Strings (Apply Intersection Match-in)
Icon:
Introduction
This command updates Civil 3D profiles to account for the intersections.
Users are able to edit profiles directly in Civil 3D and use this command to apply these profile edit changes directly back to the Civil Site Design string (including updating all intersection elevations, cul-de-sacs and knuckles). After using the Civil 3D Profiles command, designers are able to use the profile editing tools on the design profile in AutoCAD Civil 3D and write the changes back to the CSD objects using this command
In order for this update to apply, users must have the following:
- Firstly, created a Civil Site Design String from a Civil 3D alignment [Alignment Name].
- In the drawing, the Civil 3D profile/s to use to update the Civil Site Design String must be named Design-[Alignment Name]
Note: Using the Export Profiles command will automatically output Civil 3D profiles for every string with the above profile naming convention
If it is desired to bring previously created alignments and profiles into Civil Site Design, the process is:
- Create Civil Site Design Strings from each alignment
- Rename the design profile for each alignment to Design-[Alignment Name]
- Run this command - the string elevations in Civil Site Design will be updated.
Details
After using the Civil 3D Profiles command and editing the profile levels, select this command to write these changes back to the CSD objects and update all other AutoCAD Civil 3D Profiles that are affected by the profile changes made by the designer.
Changes made to one Profile can impact on other Road profile levels (in the case of a side/crossing road), kerb returns, cul-de-sacs, knuckles and any other dependent objects. Using this command ensures synchronisation between dependent profiles.
Users are able to edit profiles directly in Civil 3D and use this command to insert all the intersection controls.
Changes will be applied in the drawing following this command - there is no form or other inputs required.
